ROOF STRUCTURE FOR GREENHOUSES

A roof structure for greenhouses, which, though having a simple arrangement for improving lighting, is capable of retaining the same strength as in the conventional roof structure for greenhouses. A plurality of rafter members (10) in the form of metal pipes of circular cross section formed in arch shape with a pipe diameter of about 30 mm to about 50 mm, are arranged in the direction of the roof ridge at intervals (P) of about 0.5 m to about 1.5 m. This makes it possible to simplify the construction of the aggregate constituting the roof while retaining a predetermined strength. That is, simply joining the rafter members (10) by ridge pieces provides a sufficient strength to withstand vertical and horizontal loads applied to the roof; therefore, purlin members can be dispensed with. Further, since the construction of the aggregate constituting the roof can be simplified, lighting can be promoted.
