PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with a plurality of communication means capable of attaining quick communication.

SOLUTION: When receiving a transmission instruction in a host computer 2, a communication means decision section 33 decides an available communication means and a communication control section 34 performs communication control with the host computer 2 by the communication means decided by the communication means decision section 33.
