<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method and cooling apparatus for a high-temperature steel plate capable of suppressing the deformation and residual stress of the steel plate which occur during and after cooling in cooling the hot rolled steel plate of a high temperature. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for water cooling the hot rolled steel plate by a plurality of sets of cooling zones and heat recuperating zones, the thermal elastoplasticity critical stress determined by the high-temperature strength, thickness, widths, etc., of the steel plate are previously determined and on the other hand, the deviation between the front and rear surface temperatures is determined from the initial values of the volume and density of the cooling water, the temperature of the cooling water, the front and rear surface temperatures of the steel plate and the cooling time, and further, the thermal stress to be generated therefrom is determined. In the entire cooling water process including the heat recuperation zones, the density of the cooling water, the temperature of the cooling water or the cooling time in each of the plurality of the cooling zones is so determined that the thermal stress attains the thermal elastoplasticity critical stress or below. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
