PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of an optical fiber cable which can keep optical transmission property good by preventing softening of resin of contained optical fibers and an optical fiber cable. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of an optical fiber cable, after heat insulating tapes 5, 6 becoming a heat insulating layer 7 are wound around the surroundings of a plurality of optical fibers 10 contained in an SZ slot 3, a jacket 8 is formed by extruding thermoplastic resin to the surroundings of the heat insulating layer 7. Temperature control is performed so that the surface temperature of the optical fibers 10 becomes 130°or lower by interrupting heat to be transmitted from the jacket 8 to the optical fibers 10 with the heat insulation effect of the heat insulating layer 7. Moreover, the optical fiber cable 1 of this embodiment has not received temperature hysteresis in which the surface temperature of the contained optical fibers 10 exceeds 130°C.
