PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave oven and its control unit capable of manufacturing a control panel of various shape such as a curved face. SOLUTION: This microwave oven includes the control unit having a reduced instruction set computer (RISC) for controlling operations of the microwave oven, a soft touch panel changing its capacitance in accordance with a contact position, and a soft touch panel driving circuit for detecting the variation of the capacitance of the soft touch panel to generate an electric signal to be supplied to a microprocessor in accordance with the variation of the capacitance.
