PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase heat exchange efficiency by performing uniform and effective heat exchange in each tube. SOLUTION: The subject evaporator comprises an inflow head tank 11 having a refrigerant inlet pipe 11a and flowing refrigerant led from the refrigerant inlet pipe 11a in a direction perpendicular to a gravitational direction G and a plurality of tubes 12 having upper end side opening parts 12b opened at specified intervals in the refrigerant flow direction A of the inflow head tank 11 and disposed on the underside of the inflow head tank 11. The opening part 12b of each tube 12 at the upper end side thereof is formed at the upper position of the lower surface of the inflow head tank 11 and in a surface perpendicular to the refrigerant flow direction A.
