PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel consumption by decreasing chances of starting internal combustion engine for actuating a compressor at the time of an actuation demand of the compressor during the stop of the internal combustion engine, in a vehicular air conditioner. SOLUTION: The vehicular air conditioner comprises the compressor 2 driven by the internal combustion engine 1, a condenser 3, a receiver 4, an expanding device 5, and an vaporator 6, and on-off controls the compressor 2. In the vehicular air conditioner, a accumulator 7 connected to a coolant passage between the compressor 2 and the expanding device 5 to accumulate a coolant; and a controlling means 20 turning on the compressor 2 to make the accumulator 7 in a coolant accumulating state during reducing the speed of a vehicle, and to make the accumulator 7 in a coolant discharging state when an actuation demand of the compressor 2 is generated during the stop of the internal combustion engine 1, are provided. Therefore, at the time of reducing the speed of the vehicle, the compressor 2 is actuated to make the accumulator 7 in the coolant accumulating state, so that the compressor collects decelerating energy, and the coolant can be accumulated while preventing deterioration in fuel consumption. When the compressor is required to actuate during the stop of the internal combustion engine 1, the coolant accumulatively pressurizing the accumulating device as the discharging state is discharged, so that a time period enabling cooling while the internal combustion engine 1 is stopped can be drastically extended.
