PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool holder which prevents a tool from being broken due to the concentration of stress on the tool, and positively and smoothly carries out feeding of a coolant and discharge of chips. SOLUTION: In the structure of the tool holder, a columnar holder main body 11 has an insertion hole formed in a front end 15 in a longitudinal direction of the holder main body 11, and the tool is rigidly inserted into the insertion hole. In the tool holder, a cross sectional form of the front end 15 of the holder main body 11 in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction is set smaller than that of a rear end 12 of the holder main body 11.
