SOLUTION: In the machine tool, a gate-type column 13 is set over a reciprocative table 12, and a machining device head unit 15 which is movable on a machining device cross rail 14 extending in a direction orthogonally crossing a reciprocating direction of the table 12 and has a shaft section 15b for vertically displacing a machining head 15c for the workpiece machining is arranged on one surface of the column 13. Further a measuring instrument head unit 17 which is movable independently from the machining device head unit 15 on a measuring instrument cross rail 16 extending in a direction in parallel with the machining device head unit 15 and has a shaft section 17b for vertically displacing a measuring head 17c is arranged on the other surface of the column 13.
