The steplessly adjustable joint (1) has at least one section (2,4) and a joint bed (17,18) into which fits a conical pivot (3) in the form of a double cone. Holes (9,10,11) extending co-axially with one another pass through the joint sections and the conical pivot and accommodate a clamping screw through which runs the joint axis (21). The conical pivot may be formed on one of the joint sections or may be a component which is freely inserted in the joint sections.
