<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ticket gate capable of reducing the processing time which it takes to permit or inhibit passage, by reducing antenna switching time. <P>SOLUTION: A power supply wave is released from a first antenna (t2). Thereafter, at the time (t3) when the first antenna establishes communication with noncontact recording media, an antenna drive signal is sent to a second antenna control part to start mutual authentication between a main control part and the second antenna control part. Thus, while the first antenna is sending and receiving information to and from the noncontact recording media (t3∼t4), the mutual authentication is performed concurrently at the second antenna side, whereby the time Ta which it takes for the second antenna to release the power supply wave (t5) after the first antenna completes communication with the noncontact recording media (t4) can be made shorter than the mutual authentication time T. By reducing the antenna switching time Tc, the processing time which it takes to permit or inhibit passage can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
