<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric converter with high performance and high reliability at a low cost, and also to provide a manufacturing method of the same. <P>SOLUTION: In this photoelectric converter, a large number of granular crystal semiconductors 2 exhibiting one conductivity type are arranged on a substrate 1 having one electrode layer and bonded to the substrate 1. Parts between the semiconductors 2 are filled with insulator 3, a semiconductor layer 4 exhibiting an opposite conductivity type is arranged on the semiconductors 2, and the other electrode 5 is connected with the semiconductor layer 4 exhibiting the opposite conductivity type. The insulator 3 consists of a polyimide, an inorganic filler, an alkoxysilane, a hydrolysate of the same or a polycondensate. Consequently, the thickness of the insulator 3 on the substrate 1 is secured and an overetching of the periphery of the granular crystal semiconductor 2 can be prevented at the time of wet etching. Thus, the photoelectric converter, which a manufacture margin is larger than the conventional photoelectric convertor, having high converting efficiency can be easily manufactured at a low cost.
