<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a low-priced, highly reliable feeding mechanism having high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: This paper feeding mechanism has feeding rollers 15 for feeding transfer papers S, a drive transmitting part 20 for transmitting drive to the feeding rollers 15, and a driving device for supplying power to the drive transmitting part. The feeding rollers 15 and the drive transmitting part 20 have a one-way clutch 22. A plurality of one-way clutches 22 are arranged in the feeding rollers 15 or the drive transmitting part 20. The image forming apparatus 1 has a document reading device 2 for reading documents, an image forming unit 3 for forming the read image on the transfer paper S, the paper feeding mechanism for feeding the transfer paper S from a paper feeding cassette 4 to the image forming unit 3.
