<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device combining an excitation source for generating the light of 350 to 415 nm and a phosphor and having higher light emitting intensity. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device comprises a first light emitter for generating the light in the wavelength of 350 to 415 nm, and a second light emitter for generating a visible light through irradiation of light from the relevant first light emitter. The second light emitter includes an oxide phosphor, and the absolute value of a variation rate of light emitting intensity per unit wavelength in the wavelength of the irradiation light from the first light emitter is 1.8% or less for the wavelength of 385 nm or more but less than 390 nm, 2.5% or less for 390 nm or more but less than 395 nm, 3.5% or less for 395 nm or more but less than 400 nm, and 4.5% or less for 400 nm or more but less than 410 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
