PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool locus data dividing method which efficiently performs the division processing of tool locus data. SOLUTION: The tool locus data dividing device 2 in a CAM system which performs work processing by means of numerical value control data calculated from tool locus data and its division information is characterized by comprising a division index selecting part which selects a division index used in the division processing of the tool locus data, a division index calculating part which calculates the division index from the tool locus data, a division condition setting part which sets division conditions regarding the selected division index from a graphical indication of the calculated division index and a division result displaying part which displays the tool locus data with division information matching the division conditions being added.
