PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amorphous wholly aromatic polyester amide which can preferably be used in a multi-layered film, a multi-layered blow molding, etc. due to its excellent adhesiveness to a dissimilar polymer. SOLUTION: The amorphous wholly aromatic polyester amide is obtained by copolymerizing (A) 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, (B) 2-hydroxy-6-naphthoic acid, (C) an aromatic diamine and (D) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and further it satisfies (1) that the ratio of (C) an aromatic diamine is 3-15 mole %, (2) that the ratio of a bendable monomer (a monomer having ortho- or metha-oriented molecular structure) in the raw monomers is 7-35 mole %, (3) that the ratio ((A)/(B)) of (A) 4-hydroxybenzoic acid to (B) 2-hydroxy-6-naphthoic acid is 0.15-4.0, (4) that a melting point is not observed by DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) method at 20°C/min heating rate, and (5) that an optical anisotropy is shown at the time of softened flow state at a glass transition temperature of 100-180°C.
