PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for pulling a single crystal which can stably manufacture the single crystal over a long time and retain high transparency and see-through of a transparent plate at a peep hole. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for pulling the single crystal of calcium chloride, etc., the tubular peep hole whose open end is blocked with the transparent plate is located at the upper part of a chamber. A cooler such as a cooling jacket is installed at the wall around the peep hole, or an inert gas-ejecting system is installed near the open end of the peep hole. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
