METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CLEANING OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for cleaning an optical connector for easily and securely removing foreign matter stuck to a connection end face of an optical connector and the tip of an optical fiber projecting from the connection end face. SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for cleaning the optical connector is equipped with a housing 11 which can be fitted to the optical connector 20, a projection part 12 which is held in the housing 11, and a cleaning tape 13 which is supported on the projection part 12 so as to slid on the connection end face 22a of the ferrule 22 of the optical connector 20 in one direction. In the method for cleaning the optical connector, the housing 11 is fitted to the optical connector and the cleaning tape 13 held on the projection part 12 in the housing 11 is slid in one direction on the connection end face 22a of the ferrule of the optical connector 20 to clean the end face of the optical connector.
