Panel and mounting mechanism

A ceiling system including a plurality of grid members forming a grid network and a plurality of panels capable of being installed and positioned into the grid network from below. The panels have hook members mounted thereto which cooperate with the panel to form a grid receiving cavity. The hook member has a hook section provided thereon, such that when the ceiling panel is positioned within the grid network, the hook section and a grid flange cooperate to accurately position the panel relative to the grid network. During installation, the panel is self-aligning. When installed, the system provides no visual indications on how the panel can be removed.
