It is possible to provide a network switch apparatus which prevents generation of blocking while increasing the use efficiency of a buffer where variable length packets are accumulated. A packet received is divided into one more data blocks of a fixed length by a packet division circuit (2) and supplied to a buffer (1). Moreover, by control of a buffer control circuit (3), a transmission queue (4-1 to n, where n is an integer) capable of registering a predetermined number of data blocks is formed for each network of the packet transmission destination and the data blocks written in the buffer (1) are successively registered on the packet basis in the transmission queue corresponding to the destination. Here, concatenation between the data blocks in each packet and concatenation between the packets in each transmission queue are managed as a concatenation list structure based on the write position in each data block buffer.
|
