<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can determine continuity of target pixels and neighboring pixels in an array comprising a plurality of low-resolution image data to reduce printing dots, and can reduce the printing dots based on the determination results of the continuity. <P>SOLUTION: The continuity of the target pixels and neighboring pixels is determined by entering the target pixels Dc22 and neighboring pixels Dc11 to 13, 21, 23, 31-33 into AND gates 65a to 65h among data arrays Dc11 to 33 of main scanning direction × sub scanning direction = three pixels × three lines, which are created in a data delay part 50.
