PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring camera system capable of attaining power saving without requiring labor and time. SOLUTION: This monitoring camera system 1 comprises an inputting part 9 of a controller 3, an image data compressing part 11, an image data storage part 13, and the controller 3 configured to be able to interrupt respective driving power sources when an image data decompressing part 14 or outputting part 16 is inactive or to be able to interrupt the driving power supply of an external device 5 when an operation signal for controlling an operation of the external device 5 is not outputted for a prescribed period of time.
