PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-board telephone system where wiring connection between detection means for detecting the status of a vehicle and a control unit is made unnecessary, and reduction of operation man-hour and cost reduction in assembling vehicles can be achieved. SOLUTION: Transmission of information between a handsfree unit 11 and a sensor group 9 for detecting the status of a vehicle is performed wirelessly. When a cell phone 1 receives an incoming call signal, validity of an incoming call notification operation is determined based on the status of the vehicle detected by the sensor group 9, and the incoming call notification operation is performed only when it is determined to be notifiable. In the state where the cell phone 1 is in an incoming call status and puts the incoming call notification operation on hold, when the status of the vehicle at the point where a predetermined period passed from the occurrence of incoming call of the cell phone 1 is not notifiable yet, the cell phone 1 is switched from the incoming call status to a call connection status at the point where the predetermined period has passed, and a predetermined voice message is sent to the other party.
