PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffusing film which requires no coating process, has excellent light diffusion and light transmission properties, can converge transmitting light beams within a certain angle and contributes to high and uniform luminance when the film is mounted on a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: The inside of the film has a sea island structure which is made of fused mixture of at least two kinds of thermoplastic resin. The total light transmittance is made equal to or greater than 70%, the haze equal to or greater than 80%, a ratio Im/I0 is set equal to or greater than 0.15, where I0 is the emitted light beam intensity in the normal direction with respect to the surface of the film and Im is the emitted light beam intensity at the location that is tilted 30°to the longitudinal direction of the film from the normal direction, and a ratio It/I0 is made equal to or greater than 0.15, where It is the intensity of emitted light beams at the location that is tilted 30°from the normal direction toward the longitudinal direction and a vertical direction of the film.
