PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glidant for a rubber hoop connecting joint which is improved in workability and lubrication at a low temperature and facilitates to intercalate a spigot into a bell even under a condition of ice point such as -5°C. SOLUTION: The glidant S, which is used to intercalate a spigot 13 into a bell 12 mounted with a rubber hoop 11 for connecting, comprises 5.0-10.0 pts.wt. of a polyacrylate salt, 10.0-20.0 pts.wt. of glycerin, and 0.1-1.0 pts.wt. of oil fat, and, if necessary, 0.1-1.0 pts.wt. of an antiseptic, 0.1-1.0 pts.wt. of an antioxidant, and 0.01-0.1 pts.wt. of an antifoamer relative to 100 pts.wt. of a glidant mainly composed of water.
