PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breather device for an engine having high vapor-liquid separation performance in a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the breather device 113, a breather chamber 74 for vapor-liquid separating blow-by gas is formed to face a mating face of a plurality of housings 33, 36F, 36R including a crankcase 36. A plurality of cases are coupled to each other through the medium of a gasket 70. The blow-by gas passes through communication openings 81C-81E formed in the gasket 70 and reciprocates in the space in a plurality of cases. A cam chamber 73 for accommodating a valve cam 98 for valve mechanism drive provided to a cylinder head of an engine 31 is dividedly arranged in the coupling part of a plurality of cases 33, 36F, 36R including the crankcase 36 so as to be adjacent to a crank chamber in an axial direction of a crank shaft 41. The breather chamber 74 is formed above the cam chamber 73. The main opening 114 of the breather chamber 74 is formed so as to face the cam chamber 73. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
