PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system between a vehicle and a pedestrian by which caution and alarm, etc., are more reliably issued at both the sides of the vehicle and the pedestrian in a situation where alarm has to be issued. SOLUTION: The radio communication system between the vehicle and the pedestrian 100 provides direct radio communication between on-vehicle radio communication equipment 101 mounted on the vehicle and a pedestrian portable radio communication apparatus 102 carried by the pedestrian. The equipment 101 and the apparatus 102 respectively include: a GPS information generating means for generating GPS information comprising at least its location by using a GPS receiver; a transmitting means for transmitting by radio a transmission signal comprising the GPS information; a receiving means for acquiring GPS information of the pedestrian or the vehicle from a reception signal; and a danger degree determining and rousing means for determining a danger degree based on its own GPS information and the received GPS information, and rousing a driver or the pedestrian to recognize it in the situation with the possibility of danger.
