PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise by forming secondary flow consisting of one vortex in a scroll air duct of a centrifugal blower. SOLUTION: The cross-sectional form of a scroll duct 5 is formed of a motor side scroll wall 51 with a large radius of curvature radially extended from the outer periphery of a motor side wall 23; a suction side scroll wall 52 with a small radius of curvature axially extended from the outer periphery of a suction side wall 22; and an outer peripheral wall 53 smoothly connecting the motor side scroll wall 51 and the suction side scroll wall 52. No protrusion exists in the cross-sectional form of the scroll duct 5, and the secondary flow F consisting of a single vortex is smoothly and powerfully formed in the scroll duct 5. Noise caused by interference between the secondary flow F and discharge flow T from a centrifugal fan 4 is thereby lowered. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
