PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe, the tip of which can be held at a fixed position in a forceps channel of an endoscope. SOLUTION: This probe is composed of: a fiber bundle F; a substantially cylindrical mouthpiece 21 fixed to the tip of the fiber bundle F; a substantially tubular connector 25 fixed to the rear end thereof; a tube T covering the fiber bundle F at the rear end of the mouthpiece 21 and the tip of the connector 25; and piping 38 laid between the rear end face of the mouthpiece 21 and the tip surface of the connector in the tube T. An annular groove 45 is formed in the outer peripheral surface of the mouthpiece 21 extending over the whole periphery, and a balloon 22 formed of an expandable annular sheet is provided to be stretched between both edges of the groove 45. A hole 23 communicating the inside of the groove with the piping 38 is formed in the interior of the mouthpiece 21.
