The invention relates to an immersion roller, for guiding a metal strip (1) for coating, in a molten metal bath, mounted as to rotate in an immersion roller bearing (16) and which comprises a roller sleeve (15) with a cylindrical outer surface (14), for diverting the running direction of the metal strip. According to the invention, the service life of the roller may be increased and the load on the roller bearing may be reduced, whereby the roller sleeve (15), defined by a cylindrical outer surface (14), at least partly forms the support surface (26) for the metal strip (1) and a slide surface (28) for the roller bearing (16). |
