MULTIMEDIA MESSAGING SERVICE COMPRISING A SERVICE INDICATING RECIPIENT'S ABSENCE

The invention concerns a multimedia messaging service (MMS) which consists in transmitting a message through a radio communication network comprising a multimedia management center (MMSC) whereto are connected radio communication terminals, said MMS message comprising a header (MMS-H) containing parameters concerning said message transport and content. The invention is characterized in that said management center (MMSC) transmits an auto reply multimedia message to a terminal transmitting a message addressed to a receiver terminal, the header (MMS-H) of said auto reply message comprising a couple of parameters whereof the value corresponds respectively to a start date and an end date, a non null value of said parameters being associated with an indication of the absence of the addressed terminal for the period included between those two dates.
