Chain care rolls (38, 40, 41) are supported by the chain sleeve (30). A transition curve (44) extends to the side of a chain guide wheel. The drive chain (24) extends around the wheel via the chain care rolls. Two drive chains are positioned on either side of a stepped or pallet belt guided along a runner rail (22). Each chain is associated with a chain roll (20) which rotatably mounted on bearing journals (18) for the steps or pallets and which forms part of the chain.
