Speed-matching control method and circuit

A system and method are disclosed that match speeds of asynchronous operation between a local chip (130) and a neighboring chip (140). The system derives an internal frequency signal from an internal oscillator on the local chip (130), and receives an external frequency signal from a neighboring chip (140). The system then compares the internal frequency signal with the external frequency signal to generate a control signal (V ctl ). The control signal (V ctl ) is applied to the local chip (130) to adjust the operating speed of the local chip (130). The control signal (V ctl ) is also applied to the internal oscillator to adjust the frequency of the internal oscillator.
