Machine for renewing a railway track

The machine (1) has undercarriages (4) for supporting the frame (5) on the rail track. When operating in direction (3), the frame is supported on a height adjustable crawler carriage (17) and on a universal joint coupling (7) on the tie transport car (8,10). A tie lifting device (19) is followed by a ballast planing device (23) and tie laying device (21), each being reversible for operating in the opposite direction. These operations are controlled from the cab (42).
