A ball-and-roller bearing in which rolling elements, or rolling elements and a pair of races are formed out of a ceramic material obtained by sintering a sintering material of silicon nitride containing at least silicon oxide out of silicon oxide and silicon carbide, and a MgAl2O4 spinel structure as sintering assistants. Such a ball-and-roller bearing has a high thermal resistance and a high abrasion resistance, and displays an excellent corrosion resistance when it is used in a corrosive atmosphere, this bearing having a long service life. |
