Aluminum alloy for the production of can end sheet for cans

Aluminum alloy contains (in wt.%) 0.05-0.2 silicon, 0.2-0.4 iron, 0.05-0.15 copper, 0.4-0.8 manganese, 4.7-5.4 magnesium, 0-0.1 chromium, 0-0.25 zinc, 0-0.15 titanium, not more than 4 ppm calcium and not more than 4 ppm sodium with a balance of aluminum. An independent claim is also included for a process for forming a lid strip for cans using the above alloy.
