A class 2 invalid carriage comprising a chassis 1 and 5 so constructed that allows the centres between the rear wheels 2 and the front wheels 4 to be reduced, fitted onto the chassis the seat 11 which has scissor style legs 12, a folding backrest 15 complete with armrests 16 supported on support links 17, the seat is held in the upright position by the chassis seat locator 13 and the spring loaded bolt 14. The telescopic style tiller 18 is so designed to give infinate reach adjustment. When the seat is folded down for normal transport the tiller 18 is locked by a toggle type lock 20 to the auxillary wheel frame to secure the seat whilst the vehicle is being wheeled on the auxillary wheels 9. When the seat is folded down and the length of the chassis is reduced to its limit, the whole vehicle can be placed inside a medium size trolly suit case for transport on an aircraft or coach. |
