Class 3(ii) A portable sign with or without a frame 1, for receiving any desired inscription, notice or the like, has a conical or tapered socket 4 of resilient material secured to the sign at substantially opposite points on the periphery thereof about midway of the height of the sign or at a convenient point above this level, each socket being slit longitudinally on its outer face and receiving a leg 7 formed by two rods welded or otherwise secured together at one end so as to form a tapered or conical end complementary to the interior of the socket, the other ends of the rods being separate from one another or connected by a substantially horizontal portion 15 formed integral therewith or secured thereto. The tapered end of each leg may protrude slightly from the top of'its socket so that the leg may be released by a hammer blow on the end. The sign may be of rectangular, circular or elliptical shape. |
