The present discloses a fastening element to fasten work pieces (17), which is provided with optical derectors (22, 23) to perceive and/or control a movable element (13, 15) at the element ends. The working positions of the movable element (13, 17) are perceived by the optical derectors (22, 23, 24) removably supported and housed so that they can be be placed in a cover with open front (25) nested in the body (10) of the device. In case the fastening device is being operated by a rotatory actuator (41), a rotatory optical detector is employed (22, 44) to produce a conjunct of control signals.
