The transparent panels (5, 6) are separated by at least one transparent spacer element (7) secured to the panels by a transparent fastener means. A double-wall construction element (1) comprises two opposing transparent panels separated by one or more spacer elements extending along or close to the panel edges. The spacer elements are transparent and the means used to secure the spacer elements to the panels is at least substantially transparent too.
