PURPOSE: A system searching and connecting method of a mobile terminal is provided to quickly connect to an optimum system and register a location by omitting omittable procedures. CONSTITUTION: It is determined whether there is a finally connected system(RPLMN), and if there is a finally connected system, it is searched(S100). The system is connected in synchronization, a channel list is made, and priority levels of channels are determined(S110). It is determined whether a mobile communication service can be available(S120). If the connected system is not available for service, it is determined whether to search the finally connected system(RPLMN) or a home system(HPLMN)(S140). In case the finally connected system or the home system is to be searched, every list of a peripheral system(PLMN) is made(S150). A channel list of the peripheral system(PLMN) is made(S160). It is determined whether it's after the finally connected system(RPLMN) has been searched(S180). After the finally connected system has been searched, the home system(HPLMN) is searched(S190).
