The vehicle, especially a site vehicle for use on rough surfaces, has a chassis with two track assemblies (1), each with drive sprockets (3, 5) and thrust rollers (9, 10) for the tracks (8). Each track assembly also has a central thrust roller (11) that is deployed by an actuator (14) in the form of a two-way power cylinder against the lower section (81) of the track to lift the rest of the track from the ground and allow the vehicle to pivot on the middle of the track. When it is deployed the thrust roller is guided by a vertical rail (13) and slider (12).
