APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for driving a plasma display panel are provided to reduce the withstand voltage of a switch by charging and discharging a voltage of a panel capacitor through two stages. CONSTITUTION: A resonator(100) includes three switches(M1,M2,M5) and an inductor(L1). Each switch is a MOSFET(Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) and includes a body diode and an internal capacitor according to MOSFET characteristics. A resonator(200) is symmetrical with the resonator on the basis of a panel(300) and includes three switches(M3,M4,M6) and an inductor(L2). The panel displays a gray scale by performing the sustain and discharge of wall charges accumulated on each electrode according to driving signals of the resonators.
