PURPOSE: A positive electrode for a lithium-sulfur battery is provided to improve the service life by adding an additive having a specific particle size to control the surface roughness. CONSTITUTION: The positive electrode for a lithium-sulfur battery comprises: a positive electrode active material comprised of a sulfur element(S8), sulfur-based compounds and mixtures thereof; a conductive material; a binder; and Al2O3 additive having a particle size(D)(v, 50%) of 35000nm or less, wherein the average surface roughness(Ra) of the positive electrode is 5 micrometer or less, and the amount of Al2O3 additive is 1-50wt% based on the total weight of the positive electrode active material, the conductive material and the binder.
