A waste outlet (1) comprising a bowl (2) having an outlet (3) connectable to a waste pipe, a grate (6) within the bowl (2) or outlet and gripping means by which the grate may be lifted from the bowl (2) or outlet (3), the periphery of the grate (6) being of a shape and size to wipe against the interior surface of the bowl (2) or outlet (3) as the grate (6) is moved thereacross.
