The invention concerns a device for locking and unlocking at will an actuating movement, for use in a safety lock, said device comprising at least a key (10) bearing authenticating encoding projections (12) in succession along the longitudinal axis (1) of the key and extending perpendicular to said axis, a mechanism for sensing the encoding projections (20), a mechanism for authenticating the encoding projections (30), and a rotor, the sensing mechanism (20) including a set of fittings (21) adopting respective positions controlled by the successive projections (12) of the key (10). The invention is characterized in that each projection (12) of the key (10) brought opposite a fitting (21) imposes by itself to the corresponding fitting (21) a specific angular direction in a plane transverse to the longitudinal axis of the key (10).The invention is applicable to a safety lock.
