MANUALLY CONTROLLED ROLLING ATTENUATING DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF FOR INCREASING NUMBER OF NATURAL PERIODS BY EASILY CHANGING OPENING AND CLOSING TIME OF CLOSING DEVICE

PURPOSE: A manually controlled rolling attenuating device and a control method thereof are provided to simplify the device only with an air duct-attached closing device, to produce at low cost, and to set a wide effective period range in a period variable tank. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a manually controlled rolling attenuating device sets a control group having a plurality of natural periods from an effective period range pre-set based on an ART(Anti-Rolling Tank) natural period and a natural period value from the time for opening and closing a closing device(13a,13b) of an air duct and then selects an optimal control group according to an average horizontal rolling period value of a ship. A rolling state of the ship is obtained from a detector unit and the information is read in a control unit. A period of an ART(20) is changed or a brake operation for liquid(24) is performed by automatically executing a control of a closing mechanism unit corresponding to a pre-set condition.
