PURPOSE: A focus servo device of an optical instrument for a disk drive is provided to rotatively combine an arm with a pickup base by a hinge, and to combine a rotational driving portion for changing a rotative angle of the arm by controlling power applied to the pickup base, thereby miniaturizing an optical system. CONSTITUTION: An arm(310) is rotatively combined with a pickup base(300) by a hinge(340). A PZT(Piezoelectric Translator) block(330) for rotatively driving the arm(310) is attached to the pickup base(300). A lens barrel portion(320) is attached to the arm(310). A mirror(321) and an objective lens(322) are combined with the lens barrel portion(320). When power is applied, the arm(310) vertically moves based on the hinge(340) by the PZT block(330). The rotation amount of the arm(310) is controlled by changing the applied power, to vertically change a focal position.
