Indazole derivatives as Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) inhibitors and compositions and methods related thereto

Indazole derivative compounds of formula (I) and their salts that are useful as Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) inhibitors and compositions and methods related thereto are disclosed, wherein A, R1 and R2 are as defined in the specification. These compounds exhibit an activity as selective inhibitors of JNK, and they may have utility in the treatment of a wide range of conditions that are responsive to JNK inhibition. Thus, methods of treating such conditions are also disclosed, as are pharmaceutical compositions containing one or more compounds of the above compounds.
