PURPOSE: A device and a method for opening/closing a door using a fingerprint reader of a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) are provided to control the opening/closing the door by confirming the identification of a user through the fingerprint reader embedded into the PDA and transmitting a door opening/closing signal to a door opening/closing device. CONSTITUTION: The fingerprint reader(11) detects a fingerprint of a user. A fingerprint processor(12) generates fingerprint information by coding a signal read from the fingerprint reader. A user registration judger(13) judges the opening/closing of the door by comparing the generated fingerprint information with the registered fingerprint. An IrDA(Infrared Data Association) transmitter driver(14) drives an IrDA transmitter(15) for transmitting an infrared signal including a judgment result to the outside. The door opening/closing device(20) comprises an IrDA receiver(21) and a door opening/closing judger(22) controlling a door opening/closing unit(24) by outputting a door opening/closing driving signal to a door opening/closing driver(23).
